Cherry on top in Sea Eagles win

ALL the talk about Daly Cherry-Evans dividing the Manly club was forgotten by the champion playmaker as he dominated the Knights in his team's convincing 30-10 win at Brookvale Oval.

Leading up to this game, the 26-year-old was the subject of more headlines, with the Sea Eagles reportedly trying to convince him to do a backflip on his $4 million Titans deal.

But one of the game's biggest stars put all that aside to be involved in all five of his team's tries against a hapless Knights outfit, including scoring one himself, kicking a 40/20, and producing a try assist.

The Knights have lost their past five games, after starting the season with four consecutive victories.

Newcastle's record at Brookvale now reads just two wins from 16 matches.

Manly led 18-0 at half-time and the visitors hit back with a try to James McManus to trail 18-4 early in the second half.

But that was before Brett Stewart's try on the back of Cherry-Evans' 40/20 gave Manly a 24-4 lead just before the hour mark.

Meanwhile, a try double to Melbourne Storm fullback Billy Slater helped his team to a 28-10 win over the Parramatta Eels at Pirtek Stadium.
