Children’s show about a hip time

THE award-winning production company Garry Ginivan Attractions is bringing its newest children's show to the Whitsundays.

Children as well as parents might be familiar with the source material - the children's classic, "There's a Hippopotamus on Our Roof Eating Cake", written by Australian author Hazel Edwards and illustrated by Deborah Niland.

Now Hippo Hippo A Big New Musical Adventure! is coming to the Proserpine Entertainment Centre.

Students from Whitsunday Christian College were some of the lucky few able to get their hands on tickets, which are now all sold out.

Hippo is the imaginary friend of girl, a young child, who believes that Hippo lives on the roof and can seemingly do anything he wants, when he wants, how he wants, particularly the things that she is not allowed to.

It's been described as a show that can take you on a journey and make you laugh and cry.

In its world premiere Australian tour, the show will bring storytelling alive through music, song, dance, puppetry and imagery.

It is brought to you by the producer of Possum Magic, Wombat Stew, My Grandma lived in Gooligulch and Stripey - The Emu Chick!

Garry Ginivan Attractions is well known for transferring popular books for children into wonderful musicals that can play anywhere from the biggest concert hall in Australia to an intimate venue like the Proserpine Entertainment Centre.

Whether they're happy or sad tears, make sure you pack your tissues for this one because you're in for a big new musical adventure journey.
