CHRISTIAN group FamilyVoice Australia has congratulated a Big W store after they say it removed chocolate poker chips from sale.

FamilyVoice Australia's South Australia director David d'Lima said he called the Marion store in South Australia to complain about the sale of chocolate poker chips.

"I phoned Big W Marion yesterday to convey customer concerns about the chocolate coins designed to resemble casino chips," he said.

"I was pleased to receive a return phone call this afternoon, saying the store has withdrawn the chips from its shelves and has referred the matter to its national leadership.

Mr d'Lima said it was important to remove items which may promote gambling to children.

"There is widespread community concern about the growing incidence of problem gambling in this country," he said.

"These realistic-looking gambling chips effectively tell children that gambling is a fun thing - without giving them any idea of the heartbreak that can result.

"I hope that any other stores selling these chocolate poker chips will follow the example of Marion Big W."

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS? DO YOU AGREE WITH THE REMOVAL OF THESE CHOCOLATE POKER CHIPS FOR SALE OR IS THIS POLITICAL CORRECTNESS THAT HAS GONE TO FAR?
