Xmas appeal off to a great start

EIGHT families have already been adopted in the first week of the Whitsunday Times adopt-a-family for Christmas appeal.

The campaign makes a real difference to people in our community with the help of hundreds of selfless and compassionate people who share their Christmas spirit by adopting a family.

Nominated by local charities, the families seeking adoption face serious financial hardships or social dislocation, often through no fault of their own.

The adopt-a-family appeal encourages individuals, businesses, clubs, schools, families and workplaces to spread some Christmas spirit to those families in crisis this Christmas.

For those who would like to do something a little different, how about helping out a needy Whitsunday family and putting a Christmas hamper together stocked with toys and gifts or even non-perishable food that would put huge smiles on the faces of those struggling families.

Your reward is knowing that your generosity will help a family in need this Christmas.

The list (left) provides details of who you can choose to create a hamper for and the charity it can be taken to once you have nominated.

Please select the family that you would like to adopt and phone Mandy Patterson at the Whitsunday Times on 4940 2103.
