Clever crow gives cane toad bath before tucking in for feed
ON Sunday when walking up our drive to the gate I noticed a dead can toad on the driveway.
It hadn't been squashed and I was going to come back, pick it up with a shovel and put it in the bin.
As I reached the top of the driveway, a crow whizzed down, picked up the dead cane toad and proceeded to wash it in our bird bath.
It would drop it in, pick it out then drop it in again.
Once clean it flew up into our Poinciana tree and flipped it over on its back. It had a good feed for a while before some of our local native miners chased it away.
The crow left the toad there and as of today it is still there. Just goes to show, crows are useful.
