Clinic a success for our riders

EQUESTRIAN: Local dressage riders enjoyed a two-day clinic with accredited coach Kim Weston at Bowen's PVS Stables and Training facility recently.

Based in Cairns, Kim is an internationally experienced dressage competitor, trainer and coach with more than 30 years experience.

Whitsunday Equestrian Group president Tracey Davies said that club members were fortunate to attend this clinic, taking home a wealth of knowledge.

Equestrian Australia NCAS accredited coach Evan Parker, who is based in Ayr, will also be coaching flatwork and showjumping this Friday and Saturday. Tracey said that Evan is one of the club's favourite coaches.

"He has a fantastic ability to teach all ages and is very patient with the younger riders," she said.

WEG will host the club's final competition for the year this Sunday at the Cannonvalley Pony Club Grounds, located on Turner Rd, Riordanvale. The showjumping competition will commence with a Grand Prix event from 7am.

This will be followed by a Christmas barbecue and the end-of-year presentations after the final event at 11am.
