Club drivers get downright dirty
THE Whitsunday Sporting Car Club got down and dirty on Sunday, concluding what was a winning weekend for the club.
The Sporting Car Club hosted popular events on both days of the weekend but it was the dirt session that made the drivers as happy as pigs in mud.
Tonker Park hosted Sunday's dirt khanacross, which saw Tas Taylor claim overall victory.
The local driver conquered the course in a time of 10.41.27, finishing clear of runner-up Kym Hall on 11.00.29.

In other results on the action-packed day, Kym Hall won the under-1600CC division from Jody Morton and Lance Melrose.
Wayne Udy triumphed in the 1600-2000CC class, topping Tim Hall and Ian Sensberg.
The over-2000CC resulted in another win for Tas Taylor, who got the better of Chris Lewis and Adam Phillips.
Kym Hall posted another win in the ladies' class, while Kay Lewis and Deb Melrose rounded out the podium.
Jody Morton was the best of the junior competitors, showing her class in the dirt to finish ahead of Ryan Horder and David Bailey.
In other news, the club is hosting a working bee at Tonker Park on Sunday.
