Coast star Miller on way to London

COAST water polo star Billy Miller is London bound following his confirmed selection in the Australian men's water polo team, which was announced in Italy yesterday.

Miller has played a key role in the international arena during the past four years, and his selection was the culmination of years of hard work for the Mooloolaba-product.

While his place was almost certain, the 24-year-old said it was a relief to finally be named for his maiden Olympics.

Head coach John Fox named seven debutants in his London squad, but complemented it with a wealth of experience in the form of four-time Olympians Gavin Woods and Thomas Whalan.

The team will be skippered by Sam McGregor, while Miller was recently appointed to a role in the squad's leadership group.
