College welcomes all to Open Day Fair

THE gates are open, the food is cooking and you're invited.

Whitsunday Christian College is welcoming the whole Whitsunday community to come and have a look inside the school at its Open Day Fair.

Co-ordinator Maree Foote said the event was a bit of fun, with rides, live music and food on offer.

"This year we also have a simulator coming, which is a fantastic ride for all ages to enjoy," she said.

It's also a chance for locals to get a better look at the college as well.

"Sometimes that might be grandparents wanting to see what the students are doing, but it if there's anyone wanting to talk with teachers, they will be available," Mrs Foote said.

The open day certainly won't be short of things to do, with a lip-syncing competition, an art exhibition, sideshow alley, a petting zoo and much, much more.

The fair will run from 2pm on Saturday, October 17, and finish at 7pm with a fireworks display.

Entry is free, and unlimited access ride tickets can be purchased for $30 presale or $35 at the gate.

Presale tickets can be purchased by calling 4948 5100.
