Colours and cuts for the World’s Greatest Shave
WHITSUNDAY residents from all walks of life are preparing to colour, cut or shave their hair for this weekend's World's Greatest Shave.
The Leukaemia Foundation fundraiser will be celebrated locally at a variety of venues, with plenty of opportunities for people to donate to this worthy cause.
On Saturday, March 15, Deejay's School of Dance and Cannonvale's Reef Gateway Hotel will both be hosting their own World's Greatest Shave events.
At the Reef Gateway Hotel, several locals are preparing to lose their locks in front of a public audience from 1-3pm.
Pauline Redpath and Linda Trevisi are among those who will be taking part at the Gateway and have both set a target of at least $1000.
Ms Trevisi said it was something she felt strongly about and she particularly wanted to help all the kids who had been affected by cancer in some way.
The event at Deejay's is an initiative of mother and daughter team Denise and Dakota Hadley, which will kick off at 6pm and also feature a sausage sizzle and disco for kids.
Centro Whitsunday shopping centre will be hosting an additional event this Sunday, March 16 from 10am-1pm.
Here, Supercuts Hairdressing will be providing colours and cuts for all participants, with a large number of tenants and local customers expected to join in. The shopping centre is hoping to raise $5000 in what promises to be a very visual event.
Anyone interested in taking part can either join in on the day or make a donation at Centro Whitsunday.
