Come and join in the club spirit

RUGBY LEAGUE: Through the wins and the loses, the sun and the rain, the Whitsunday Brahams supporters are there.

And come Saturday night the green army will be out in force once again.

In honour of this, the Brahmans are inviting you to come and celebrate - no matter what happens on game day - with a Family Fun Day.

"The players wanted to do something with their families and fans this year before they cut loose with each other for a few days,” A-Grade coach James Webb said.

"The day after the Grand Final - win, lose or draw - we'll be down there.”

Boasting a jumping castle, a DJ and even the GJ Gardner Dash for Cash, it sure is set to be one hell of a celebration.

Event organiser Paul Maxwell said the Brahmans supporters were something special, making the club and its players what they were today.

"A lot of the players' families are a big part of the reason they've made it to the Grand Final,” he said.

"We've got the best supporters base in the Mackay competition.

"We get the biggest crowds.

"So it's only fair they join in, they deserve to be part of the celebrations; no matter whether we win or lose.”

While last year's win was on a Sunday, followed by a hasty celebration back at the club, this year's Saturday night game allows for a bigger bash.

"A lot of families flew up to watch their sons play last year, saw them before the game and then off they go,” Mr Maxwell said.

"Then they get on the bus and disappear.

"So we really want to involve the families and the supporters this time.”

Mr Maxwell said it would be a great chance for the whole family to join in the fun.

"If you're a supporter and you've got kids it's going to be a great way to celebrate, have a few beers and know the kids are going to be happy running around,” he said.

"We've got a loyal supporter base, it's second to none.

"So hopefully everyone can come along and enjoy the celebrations.”

The Family Fun Day will be held on Sunday from 11am to 5pm at Les Stagg Oval.

Entry is free.
