Comedy hypnotist to cast his spell

COMEDY hypnotist Wayne Donnelly will have the Whitsundays in stitches this weekend when he brings his bizarre show to the region.

The comedy hypnosis shows that Wayne, who will perform at the Whitsunday Arts and Cultural Centre on Saturday night, has developed include a range of routines that delight and astound audiences, from limbs being stuck and human bridges to rock star revivals and amnesia.

From Woy Woy, NSW, Wayne's passion for hypnosis was sparked in 1996 after experiencing a firewalk with Anthony Robbins.

While walking on fire was an experience in itself, what really inspired him was how one man on a stage managed to convince 1800 people to go outside and walk across pits of lava.

From this point Wayne dedicated himself to learning the skills of hypnosis and NLP, testing his powers on family, workmates and clients.

The power of the mind was further illustrated to Wayne in 2005 when a major back injury almost resulted in him becoming paralysed.

Emergency surgery averted the situation however he suffered from post-surgical depression.

By chance, Wayne was introduced to a hypnotist who specialised in this area.

After several sessions Wayne's demeanour was turned around and he was back on his feet.

This inspired Wayne to turn the power of hypnosis into a career, performing in numerous venues in New South Wales and Queensland.
