Conway fires up again

OVER 20 vehicles from across Queensland will battle it out for prestigious prizes at the Conway Beach Tourist Park this weekend.

The Vintage and Retro Vans event will have car enthusiasts flocking back to the tourist park following the successful Cars at Conway event held in November.

Competitors from as far south as the Sunshine Coast will display their vehicles side by side with local car enthusiasts.

Vehicle owners will begin preparations for the event this Thursday and Friday, May 4-5 with the official competition to be held on May 6 from 9am-3pm.

Conway Beach Tourist Park co-owner Debbie Brown said the event would be just as family friendly as the annual Cars at Conway day.

"It will be a family day and a really fun weekend all round,” she said.

"We're hoping to get lots of people through the gate to have a look.”

Visitors are invited to book a spot at the park and make it a weekend.

For more information, phone the park on 49473147 or visit their Facebook page Conway Beach Tourist Park.
