Cool cars to cruise Airlie foreshore

ENVIABLE cars from all across the state will converge on Airlie Beach this weekend.

The second annual Cruisin' Whitsunday event will see all manner of awesome automobiles on show.

Whitsunday Cruisin' Car Club president Chris Coyte said the Airlie Beach foreshore would be full of colour and polished chrome this Saturday.

"We just all come to town to cruise around, we do a display down on the foreshore and everyone just mingles through town for lunch," he said.

"We've got classics, muscle cars and a few hotrods.

"There's even a couple of hotrods coming from Mackay that we haven't had before."

Mr Coyte said last year's inaugural event had been hugely popular.

"The public loved it, and the reason we're doing it again this year is I've had all the clubs that came ringing me asking when we're doing it again," he said.

"Who wouldn't want to come to Airlie for the weekend to cruise in their car?"

The club is always open to new members, Mr Coyte said.

"For any locals that want to get their car out of the garage and socialise with people with the same interest - the Whitsunday Cruisin' Car Club is open to anyone," he said.

Contact Mr Coyte on 0417520088.

The event runs on Sunday from 9am-2pm.
