Cop assaulted at shopping centre

POLICE have taken two people into custody following a disturbance at Riverlink Shopping Centre this morning.

A female officer called for back-up about 9.25am, after allegedly being assaulted.

Two people were taken to Ipswich Watchouse, and police say one person has since been charged with serious assault of a police officer.

Police have not released further details on the extent of the alleged assault.
