Council decision welcome

HAVENGRAND owners have welcomed Council's decision to open up the purchase of a future sports park to public consultation.

Council had previously voted to negotiate with Havengrand, the owners of a 95 hectare block in Mount Marlow for the purchase of the land for a future sports park.

That negotiation process has now been slowed and possibly put in jeopardy after a wave of public opposition to Council's initial decision led to a new decision last week – for more consultation.

Shareholder of Havengrand Tony Price said he welcomed the consultation.

“As long as it's done in a fair and professional way, we'll end up with the best sports park in Queensland,” he said.
