Council employee faces fraud charges

A council employee has been charged with 24 fraud offences.

The 50-year-old Annandale man was arrested in Brisbane and charged at Fortitude Valley Police Station on Friday.

The man is being investigated by the Crime and Corruption Commission.

He was granted bail and is expected to appear before Townsville Magistrates Court on July 26.

The council and police were contacted for comment.
