Proserpine's Crossley Holden has done the town proud with Holden Australia honouring the dealership as a 2014 Grand Master, one of only six in the state to earn the award.

Crossley Holden dealer principal Ben Hancock said the award was "a big pat on the back for the team".

"It's not just about selling cars, it's about customer service, it's about growing your business and having customer satisfaction," he said.

"(Winning is) something that is very difficult to achieve."

The award is decided upon a dealership's "sales excellence, customer service, after sales delivery, training and other quality measures across all areas of the business".

Mr Hancock said the team at Crossely Holden worked hard to make the dealership an inviting business, not just a successful one.

"I like to call the place Disneyland because that's how we want to make people feel when they walk through the door," he said.

Mr Hancock said "in a lot of cases" the customers were more than just clients.

"They're not just coming in to buy a car, they just like coming in to catch up," he said.

It's clear the approach is working with the dealership one of just 32 in the nation to be awarded a 2014 Grand Master title.

"If you're achieving the things that the award promotes you're usually doing quite well," Mr Hancock said.

Holden chairman and managing director Jeff Rolfs said the successful dealerships could take the award as a sign from higher up to keep on doing what they're doing.

"This is not an award that is easily won," he said.

"It is given to those select few who are committed to excellence and enhancing the experience of every customer who walks through the door.

"This award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the dealership's entire team who are the face of the Holden brand each and every day."
