Dancers record great results
WHITSUNDAY Dance Connection students pranced and spun their way to the top at the Burdekin Junior Eisteddfod last week.
Students did a mixture of solos and duos in modern, classical, tap and song and dance divisions to claim prizes against other dancers from across North Queensland.
Alana Murphy finished first in the 10-years up-tempo modern solo and was highly commended in the modern improvisation category for 12-years and under.
Sarah Milne and Jacquelyn Watts also placed first for their novelty duo in the nine-years and under category.
Dance teacher Paula Bradley said the event was a first for some dancers.
"It gives them great exposure to develop their confidence and get up there and have fun," she said.
Whitsunday Dance Connection have been competing at the event for the past 16 years.
