NSW detectives hunting boy, 12, who attacked 8-year-old

DETECTIVES from the Child Abuse Squad at Coffs Harbour are trying to identify a young boy alleged to have assaulted an eight year-old girl last month.

About 2.30pm on Saturday 23 May 2015, the girl was approached by a boy on a bicycle at Fitzroy Oval, Coffs Harbour.

Police were told the girl was taken into bushland where she was allegedly incited to an indecent act.

The boy is believed to be aged about 12 years old.

He was about 140-150cm tall with a thin build and fair skin. His hair is believed to be brown but was mostly covered by a hat. The boy was in possession of a pushbike.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone who can identify the boy, or who has information about this or similar incidents in the area.
