Dine, donate and indulge at lunch

ENJOYING a lovely lunch, helping local people and having a good laugh.

The Quota International of Whitsunday Long Lunch is the ultimate gathering to give back.

Ways and means director Tina West said the lunch was also about having a good time while giving back.

"It's all about raising funds for the local community to put back into schools, hospitals and other organisations," she said.

Tickets to the event at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre cost $65, but diners will get plenty back, with live entertainment by Mark Roberts and raffles running throughout the day.

"And for every ticket purchased you go into the draw to win a $250 cash prize on the day," Ms West said.

"So that's something new, and we've also got a major raffle prize donated by Cruise Whitsundays, for a picnic for two adults on Whitehaven Beach."

A number of minor raffles will also see many walk away winners.

Ms West said there would be "a wonderful array of homemade sweets and deserts, which Quota ladies are renowned for".
