Dita Von Teese lingerie launch spices up Myer fashions

BURLESQUE model Dita Von Teese may have ruffled Rhonda Burchmore's feathers in the Birdcage this week, but her lingerie line won plenty of fans.

The shapely fashion icon was the star attraction in the Myer Marquee this week where she told Vogue she was 'really interested in the art of being a woman'.

"I'm a big fan of the womanly arts," she said. "My style is definitely a little bit whimsical and based in the creation of glamour and the art of creating glamour."

Burchmore was not so impressed, however, after she approached the star for a photo, saying her daughter was a big fan.

"She then went 'my dear, if I had to have a photograph with you I would have to have one with everyone in Flemington, plus you have interrupted my conversation,' I was gobsmacked,"  the show business queen told the Herald Sun newspaper.

But it was the lingerie they were talking about back home.

"Giving fans and customers a view of what she has Down Under,''  was how GossipCenter told the story.

"Stunning and seductive in a nighttime-inspired stringy dress, the 41-year-old wore lacy arm wraps, puffy heels, and she flirted with the camera during her photo shoot,' the story said.

Dita tweeted: "Thank you to everyone who came out to @Myer_MyStore Melbourne today in support of my lingerie launch, I enjoyed meeting you so much. Xx."

Among those also making headlines and the social pages for Myer were the Face of Myer Jennifer Hawkins and Myer ambassadors Kris Smith, Lauren Phillips and Laura Dundovic.

Celebrities included Hamish Blake, Andy Lee, Kate Peck, Lindy and Michael Klim, Nick and Erin Maxwell, Stirling Mortlock, Nathan Brown, Gary Sweet, Barb and Paul Licuria, Ryan Buckingham, Scott McGregor, Jules and Guy Sebastian, Brynne and Geoffrey Edlesten and Shelley Craft.

Ladies Oaks Day's star attraction was reality television star, Whitney Port.

Rounding out the line-up of celebs were Kate Peck, Michala Banas, Nikki Phillips, Anthony Callea, Tim Campbell, Sophie van den Akker, Dave Hughes, Kate Langbroek, Lauren Brain, Alice Burdeu, Natalie Hunter, Glen Moriarty, Jo Hall, Jaime Robbie Reyne, Samantha Downie, Matthew Lloyd, Tom Wren, Cindy Sargon and Michael Coade.
