A 22-YEAR-old man has been committed to stand trial in the Bundaberg District Court, accused of causing the death of a Bundaberg university lecturer in a two-car crash at the Hummock.

Adam James Fromm faced the Bundaberg Magistrate Court on Thursday where Magistrate Aaron Simpson determined there was sufficient evidence for Fromm to stand trial on the charge of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.

CQUniversity psychology lecturer, 41-year-old Dr Phillip Donaldson died in Royal Brisbane Hospital on April 4 after being involved in the March 13 crash on Windermere Rd near the Hummock Rd intersection.

Mr Simpson referred to the statement of a police officer from the forensic crash unit in which he stated markings from the crash scene were consistent with Fromm's Toyota travelling north along the Hummock Rd and travelling through the stop sign at speed.

Mr Simpson said he also referred to the statement which indicated markings were consistentce with the Toyota impacting Mr Donaldson's car at force, causing it to spin and hit a wooden power pole which encroached the vehicle and pushed the passenger seating into the driver's seating area.

Mr Simpson also referred to the statement from a witness who stated she saw a red car (Mr Donaldson's) come to a complete stop on Hummock Rd and indicate to turn left just moments before she heard a loud noise and saw a red and blue car come together and slide together.

Mr Simpson also referred to Mr Donaldson's autopsy result which showed he suffered head injuries which directly led to his death.

A blood specimen certificate was also handed up in court yesterday which indicated Fromm returned a blood alcohol level equivalent to 0.139%.

Fromm, who was not represented by a lawyer yesterday, declined to question any of the nine witnesses the Crown will rely on for its case.

A date for the trial is yet to be set.
