
Drug charges after alleged foot chase in Proserpine
Police allegedly had to chase a man in Proserpine before charging him with possessing drugs and utensils.
Acting officer-in-charge Alan Davis said the Bowen man tried to run from police on Spalla Dve, Proserpine, on December 30 but was arrested a short distance away.
The 26-year-old man was allegedly in possession of drugs and utensils.
Acting Senior Sergeant Davis said the man was also charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle in relation to a stolen motorbike.
He will appear in court at a later date.

New Year's Eve road crash
A Bloomsbury man was allegedly more than three times the legal limit when he smashed through a fence on New Year's Eve.
Sen-Sgt Davis said the 34-year-old man lost control in wet conditions about 7.30pm.
He then crashed his car through a fence on Midge Point Rd, Bloomsbury.
Police will allege the man returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.153.
Senior Sergeant Davis said the man was scheduled to appear in court later this month.

Drivers charged
Three drivers have not started the year on a good note after they were allegedly caught-drink driving on New Year's Day.
Sen-Sgt Davis said police pulled up the first driver on Dingo Beach Rd about 10.50am on New Year's Day.
The 25-year-old Victorian man allegedly returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.053 and is scheduled to appear in Proserpine Magistrates Court on January 25.
Next, a 22-year-old Mackay man was pulled over on the Bruce Highway at Proserpine for a speeding offence.
Sen-Sgt Davis said the man also returned a 0.065 BAC reading.
He is scheduled to appear in Proserpine Magistrates Court on January 18.
Finally, police intercepted a 31-year-old Midge Point woman on Main St, Proserpine about 9.30pm and allegedly returned a 0.149 BAC.
She is also scheduled to appear in court on January 18.
