Drug raid leads police to stolen goods stash

A DRUG raid at a Gatton property helped police solve a number of recent break and enter offences around the Lockyer Valley region in past months.

Gatton Sergeant Brad Browning said Lockyer Valley Crime Car officers investigating a lead into suspected drug use at a Gatton property on Monday found more than a cannabis stash.

Sgt Browning said the operation found a quantity of cannabis, drug related utensils, ammunition, a suspected stolen wallet and set of keys at the property.

A 16-year-old Gatton boy accepted Drug Diversion after claiming ownership of the drug property, while a 20-year-old Lockyer Waters man is due to appear in court on drug possession charges.

Sgt Browning said a further search uncovered a stash of property stolen from the Lockyer District High School and two sheds on Industrial Ave reported last month.

"Police also recovered thousands of dollars worth of stolen copper wiring and a surveillance camera that were positively identified by police as being stolen from the local Gatton businesses Valley Irrigation and Ziebarth's Towing during the early morning hours of June 20," he said.

A Gatton man, 19, was released on conditional bail and charged with a raft of offences including enter premises and commit an indictable offence, receiving tainted property, possessing dangerous drugs and multiple counts of supplying dangerous drugs to a minor.

He is due to appear in Gatton Magistrates Court on July 11. Investigations are continuing.
