Dux duo achieve excellence and strengthen bond

IT'S not every year the Dux award goes to two students but 2016 is an extraordinary year.

Proserpine State High School students Lloyd Clode-Roberts and Logan Donadelli won the unique and prestigious honour of obtaining the Dux award.

Lloyd said the pair shared a competitive bond throughout their senior schooling years, which paid dividends.

"It's a truly wonderful feeling, while we are competitive we are great friends and we always push each other in terms of striving for academic excellence,” he said.

The dux duo hauled an impressive number of academic awards highlighting their respective strengths in science, english and social science.

Lloyd achieved academic awards for Chemistry, Physical Education and Physics.

Logan snagged the Drama, Economics, English and Legal Studies awards

Despite the friendly rivalry the two students, agreed a dual dux award was the ideal outcome.

Logan Donadelli said 2016 brought out the best in him and Lloyd.

"I think this year for me and Lloyd was a particularly good year, we really hit our stride in grade 12 which is a good time to put it into top gear,” he said.

Both students stressed the importance of hard work and seeking guidance from the great teachers at Proserpine State High School.

Lloyd plans to study medicine at JCU while Logan intends to move south to Brisbane to study law and economics.
