Early date for Warriors and Broncos

THE Brisbane Broncos are set to play a trial against the Warriors at Dunedin's home of rugby, Forsyth Barr Stadium, in February.

After starting the NRL season slowly in the past two years, the Warriors are set to scrap their recent strategy of playing one or more trials against Queensland or NSW Cup sides.

Instead they will play three trials against NRL clubs, two in regional centres in New Zealand and one in Australia, according to the Herald on Sunday.

Warriors management has yet to reveal whether it will again seek to open its season at Auckland's Eden Park, chief executive Wayne Scurrah saying, "It needs to be drawcard game". - APNZ
