Emergency roundup: Skateboarder suffers trauma, kitchen fire

A MALE was taken to Mackay Base Hospital after suffering trauma during a reported fall from a skateboard in North Mackay overnight.

The rider was believed to have fallen from his board at a location off Scriha St about 9.20pm.

He was taken to hospital in a stable condition with head, chest and arm injuries.

Earlier that night, a man in his 40s was assessed for smoke inhalation following a reported kitchen fire at a private address in Airlie Beach about 7.40pm.

The man was in a stable condition and did not require transport to hospital.
