Man taken in after threats made at train station

UPDATE: Police have revoked an emergency situation warning that was declared this morning at Helensvale Train Station.

Around 7am police were called to the  station in relation to a man making threats.

The man was taken into custody a short time later.

The PSPA was revoked around 8.15am after police rendered the area safe.

Investigations are continuing.

Earlier: AN emergency situation has been declared after a man at Helensvale Railway Station began making threats.

Police are asking members of the public to avoid the area within the Town Centre Drive, North to the entrance of the Helensvale Train Station and south of the entrance to the Railway Station, Town Centre Drive.

Police declared the PSPA at 7:30am and the man was taken into custody shortly afterward.

They have made no indication at time of writing that the arrest has meant the PSPA has been lifted.
