Entertainment for one and all

THERE'S a jam packed schedule at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre over the school holidays, with something for the whole family.

One definite stand out will be the performance by sensational singer/songwriter Catherine Britt.

Proserpine Entertainment Centre owner Chris Patrick said this was "a special tour for Catherine".

"She's just undergone some breast cancer treatment, so it's going to be a bit of an emotional trip for her," he said.

Supported by a four-piece band, including country music great Bill Chambers, Britt's performance is sure to be a show stopper.

Not to be outdone, the live performance of laugh-out-loud stage show Australia Day is sure to see audiences knee-slapping.

Centring around the Australia Day preparations in the country town of Coriole, the show explores the many forms Australian celebrations can take and what it truly means to be an Aussie.

"These are good quality performances by great actors. We're lucky to have them here," Mr Patrick said.

There are plenty of other options for those looking for a laugh as well, with Pitch Perfect 2 set to hit the screens this Friday.

Following on from the smash hit prequel, Pitch Perfect 2 sees the Barden Bellas enter an international singing competition to regain their status after a humiliating performance.

Starring the ever entertaining Rebel Wilson and Anna Kendrick, the film guarantees a few laughs. The kids haven't been forgotten in the film department either, with the latest offering from Pixar set to delight.

Inside Out focuses on a young girl, Riley, following her move from America's Midwest to San Francisco.

Personified in special effects, Riley's emotions come to life and conflict over how best to navigate her new city, home and school.
