Estate set for life

TELFORD Rise is ready for business as a new 19-house estate in Strathdickie.

The brainchild of property developer Louie Berger, of Berger Contracting Property Developers, the estate is perfect for families with kids, retirees looking to settle or people wanting a holiday home in the Whitsundays.

For Mr Berger, it's a project that is close to his heart.

"I've been doing this for about 35 years - buying land and developing it," he said.

"I liked this area. I was here 30-odd years ago and I liked the place then and I thought one day I might come up again and live here."

Mr Berger bought the land four years ago and wants it to be a peaceful, private and secure patch of paradise.

Spending the past eight years in and out of Airlie Beach, it is Mr Berger's second estate, following one in Rifle Range Rd, Mount Marlow, which he called "a lovely estate".

With experience working all over Australia, Mr Berger said for him it was not just about making money and moving on to a new area.

"I plan to put my own holiday house on one of these blocks," he said.

"Airlie Beach is one of the nicest places I've worked in. The people here and the community here is great. I've got to like an area before I start working on it. If I don't like it, I won't even buy it."

Mr Berger said the completed developments he had done gave him great satisfaction.

"It's always been a dream to do this sort of stuff. To develop things that people will enjoy well after I've gone. It's a passion I have," he said.

The gated community features 32 hectares of picnic areas and bushwalking paths as well as a horse arena.

With privacy at its core, Mr Berger said "it's just a great lifestyle out here".

With 18 blocks still available, contact Louie Berger for more information on 0418 390 000.
