Expo to help job search

NEXT Tuesday the Proserpine State High School will hold its biennial Careers Expo.

School guidance officer Sharon Rudinski said this year's expo would have lots of interactive displays to help students identify future career pathways.

She said the focus was on high school students but mature age job seekers were also invited to attend the event between 12 and 2.30pm at the school's multi purpose hall.

The expo is designed to allow professional bodies, employers and tertiary institutions a chance to showcase career opportunities, study options and support services to secondary students and other community members.

Through career markets, students have the opportunity to gain specific, up-to-date information on a wide range of careers.

Participating schools conduct preparatory and follow-up programs to help students gain maximum benefit from the event.

The event is free.
