THERE is now an extra direct flight between Melbourne and Hamilton Island.
The Virgin Australian flight started today - just two days before the start of the annual Audi Hamilton island Race Week.
The flight is now operational four days a week.
Cruise Whitsundays also started its new timetable from Hamilton Island to Airlie Beach this week.
