Fantastic fete fun

THE wonderland that is the Cannonvale State School fete returns for another year this Saturday, July 25.

From 10am-2pm, the school grounds will be alive with music, entertainment, rides, displays and stalls of all kinds.

The entire Whitsunday community is invited to the fete that has something for everyone.

Once it's been officially opened by principal Angie Kelly, the stage will be given over to the likes of the school's choir, concert and rock bands.

All the kids' favourite stalls are returning this year, such as the choc throw, frog throw and the ever-popular cake box decorating competition.

There will also be laughing clowns, a fairy floss tent and even a white elephant and second-hand book stall.

Plants and baked goods will be on sale, and there will be face painting, ice cream spiders and huge raffle prizes up for grabs.

There will be plenty of display stands by community organisations such as the Whitsunday PCYC and the fete will finish with the famous local fire brigade's awesome lolly drop.

Unlimited ride passes will be available on the day and children can expect the old favourites such as the giant slide, inflatable playground, jumping castle and chair-o-planes.

Some new rides will add to the excitement.

Cannonvale State School P&C committee treasurer Sue Griffiths said the success of past fetes had only been made possible by the tireless efforts of parents and caregivers, school staff, volunteers, community organisations and local businesses who generously gave their time, gifts, services, vouchers and products needed for stalls.

See you there.
