Fatal accident south of Proserpine

UPDATE: Thursday, January 24

The driver of a car who died in a three vehicle crash south of Proserpine yesterday morning (Wednesday) has been identified as a Conway Beach man.

The 55-year-old man died at the scene of the crash.

The passenger from the car, a 56-year-old Conway Beach woman, was taken to the Proserpine Hospital with serious injuries.

The truck driver, a 47-year-old Bluewater man was also taken to the Proserpine Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Initial investigations indicate that a utility travelling south on the Bruce Highway clipped another utility before colliding with a truck, both travelling north, around 10.35am.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
