A MAN has died and a woman was left with injuries after a car crash at about 6.45pm last night on Shute Harbour Road Cannonvale.

The man was pronounced dead by a doctor at the scene on the outskirts of Cannonvale at 7.30pm.

The woman was airlifted to Mackay Base Hospital with a broken leg and suspected spinal injuries.

The man was driving on Shute Harbour Road towards Airlie Beach before crossing onto the other side of the road and colliding with the women's car which was heading towards Proserpine.
