Fishing classic is fun for the whole family

BACK in its 25th year, the Bowen Family Fishing Classic is set to be a sensational weekend both on and off the water.

While the anglers go head-to-head in the fishing, the onshore entertainment is set to fire.

This year the classic will boast an impressive line-up, including Australian music icon Shannon Noll.

Joining the Idol star on stage will be Monterrat, Lonesome Train, 1984, Phil Emmanuel, The Cadillacs, Simmer Down, and Whales Tales.

The classic has some serious prizes up for grabs this year as well, with the senior winner taking home a Bluefin 'Silver Edition' 4.8 tinny.

The juniors can get their hands on their very own boat as well, with the Bluefin 3.5 Blaze 'Bandit' on the line.

Competition entry costs $28 for seniors and $15 for juniors.

To enter, phone 47863899 or visit bowenfamily fishingclassic.com.

Entries close online on Thursday, September 15, at 5pm.

Entries close by post on Friday, September 9.

The classic is on from from Saturday, September 17, to Sunday, September 18, and is free to attend.
