A ‘super’ Whitsunday weekend

1. Bowen Superboats

The Superboats are back in Bowen with a whole weekend packed with activities.

Get on down to the Bowen foreshore on Saturday morning for markets starting at 11am and and a tugboat display at 12.30pm. Racing gets underway at 1pm.

Once the action on the water has finished, head to the main strip for the street festival starting from 6pm.

On Sunday, the markets are back from 8.30am. Racing starts from 11am, with a jetpack display from 3.30pm.

You don't want to miss this massive weekend.

2. Big DJs at Magnums

Ready for a night out with some world class DJs? Then look no further then Magnums Hotel this Saturday night to catch the Potbelleez.

The dance-anthem kings will be hitting the decks Saturday night with their free show kicking off at 8pm.

Their mega-hit 'Don't Hold Back' has been featured heavily in Jeep commercials and heard around the world.

Get on down to Magnums this Saturday and get ready to dance the night away.

3. Big screen for children's classic

The BFG will be screening this Friday at 7pm, Saturday at 4.30pm and Sunday at 2pm at the Proserpine Entertainment Centre.

The Roald Dahl classic children's tale has been adapted for the screen by film icon Steven Spielberg and it's sure to deliver a whole lot of fun for families of all shapes and sizes.

Proserpine Entertainment Centre will also screen Ice Age: Collision Course this weekend. The fifth instalment in this chilly franchise will be showing on Friday at 4.30pm, Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 11.30am.

4. Up and coming DJ hits Boom

The next Flume? You never quite know who's going to be big but Sydney DJ Tom Budin is making all the right moves right now.

This Saturday Boom will open its doors from 9am with Budin sure to have the dance floor in a spin.

With entry free until 11pm, this is your chance to check out one of the up and coming young DJs on the scene.
