Five wins in a row for cowboy Lee

RODEO: He has won his last five rodeos but Owen Lee is still hungry for more - eyeing off a double delight this weekend.

The Proserpine cowboy continued his stellar run of form on Saturday night at the Australia Professional Rodeo Association's Nebo Rodeo, scoring 79 points on last year's Australian bucking horse of the year runner-up - Little Egypt.

"I've ridden him once before in the third round of the national finals. He's a tough horse and takes some riding," Lee explained.

"I knew she was the one to win on and she was good to me. Horses love the Nebo arena and always buck good there."

The bareback horse rider netted $1250 for the win and a further confidence booster - not that he needed it.

"It's a pretty cool feeling (to win five in a row)," he said.

"This weekend being the last weekend of May... hopefully I can get myself a clean month. I've never had a full month of winning before. I nearly did it in February but I ended up with three out of four wins after finishing second at the fourth (rodeo).

"I've been drawing good but the horses are tough. I'm still very sore the next day."

Lee will take on the Bundaberg Show Rodeo on Friday night and back-up on Saturday for the APRA Moranbah Rodeo.
