Fleet turnout for twilight series

THERE was a terrific turnout of four fast multihulls on the course for the 23rd twilight race in the sprint series last Wednesday.

Cynophobe had soon left Wild Thing and Doctor's Orders behind and held on to her position to claim the line honours win.

She also took the handicap win by a mere two seconds from Keith Roberts on Wild Thing and a further three seconds over Doctor's Orders, a great result for the crew as they look towards Telcoinabox Airlie Beach Race Week in August.

A new formed rivalry for line honours was happening in Division 2 between the recently splashed Reignition and Damian Suckling's Another Fiasco, with Reignition snatching victory by a minute.

However, it was the Kevin Fogarty-helmed Twister who took the podium position giving the crew a strong standing for the month throwing the challenge to her rivals for best performed local boat during Race Week.

Division 3 had eight boats line up, which was won by the Rob Davis-helmed Breakaway.

Davis protected his clear air around the course to keep nearest competitor Lorna Rose Too on his stern to take the line honours bragging rights.

Coorong, C-Eagle and Driftwood in Division 3 is set to become as closely competitive as the other two divisions.
