Former councillor called before inquiry
AUBURN City Council's infamous former deputy mayor Salim Mehajer will be called to give evidence at an Office of Local Government public inquiry into misconduct allegations.
The ABC reported yesterday that Paul Bolster, counsel assisting the commissioner, said the inquiry would look into the council's response to Mr Mehajer's closure of a Western Sydney street for his wedding.
Mr Mehajer reportedly sent flyers to residents saying cars would be towed if they were in the way.
He was not on the inquiry's original witness list.
