Fraud charge over filling

PROSERPINE police have charged a man with fraud after he allegedly skipped out on his dentist bill.

It is alleged the 71-year-old Proserpine man had attended the dentist and received treatment for a filling.

He then left the clinic without making any attempt to pay or any arrangements for payment, a police spokesman said.

The clinic contacted Proserpine police, who located the man and spoke to him in relation to the incident.

As a result, the man was arrested and charged with fraud, the spokesman said.

He will appear in the Proserpine Magistrates Court on May 25.
