Free car wash will raise funds for fete
CANNONVALE State School (CSS) Parents and Citizens Association want to wash your cars this weekend - rain hail or shine.
The car wash, to be held at Regatta Waters, will be the first fundraising venture for the school fete which will be on July 26.
Parents and Citizens Association vice president Zoe Skinner said the car wash was a chance to connect with the local community and raise awareness for the school.
"It's just a case of making it a community event and raising more awareness of what we do and hopefully [raise]more money, which goes back to school," she said.
The P&C Association encourages small and local business to inquire about having a stall at their upcoming fete.
"Local business or small businesses can use the opportunity to promote their business at a school and community fund raising event."
"We are more aiming this at small businesses who don't get the opportunity elsewhere to promote [their] business but they can do that with a captive audience at the school fete," she said.
The car wash will be on from 10am to 2pm and the committee are determined to not let the weather dampen their spirits.
Anyone wanting a free car wash just has to collect their voucher from the front page of today's paper.
With each car washed, Regatta Waters will donate $5 to the P&C Association which will go towards July's fete.
Any business interested in having a stand at the fete can contact the school on 4946 2333.
