Free fun set up for kids these school holidays

NO CHILDREN will be saying "I'm bored" these school holidays with local libraries offering free activities for all youngsters.

From Monday, June 27, to Friday, July 8, libraries in Bowen, Cannonvale, Collinsville and Proserpine will host an exciting range of activities, which are sure to wear out even the most energetic kids.

Mayor Andrew Willcox said local children were encouraged to unlock their imaginations and join the fun on offer at local libraries.

"Our library staff will have a great range of activities to keep children amused in a safe and educational environment," he said.

"Activities include Star Wars and Angry Birds paper craft, sand art, mixed media painting sessions, photography and Ozobot workshops, just to name a few."

Make sure you're not in your best outfit and perhaps wear some old clothes as some activities are guaranteed to get quite messy.

Early bookings are recommended as places are limited.

Age limits may also apply to some activities and children under eight must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

For more information, contact your local library.
