FREE-range rule changes have left cracks in Australia's egg supply chain.
Shoppers will scramble to find free-range eggs over the next eight weeks because farmers have chickened out of investing in facilities until the Federal Government finalises rules on sheds to meet its policy.
The laws allow one chicken per square metre and birds must have regular access to the outdoors.
