Where you can grab a beer in Mackay for Friday knock-off

AFTER a long wait, Mackay residents will be able to tuck into a parmy and beer at several venues this weekend.

While a few pubs and hotels across the region have already reopened for dining, others will welcome patrons in the coming days and weeks.

Australian Venue Co.'s 11 locations across North Queensland have reopened as lockdown restrictions ease.

These include Mackay's The Metropolitan Hotel and Boomerang Hotel.

AVC state manager Scott Brydson said there would be an increased focus on safety for customers with new safe socialising standards, including spaced tables and reduced capacity.

"The last couple of months have been catastrophic for the hospitality industry but we are proud to be part of an industry which has proved itself to be resilient, supportive and as hard working as ever at this difficult time," he said.

"We are so pleased to be reopening our venues to the public again and to be able to reconnect with our loyal customers."

For those looking for a feed in the Northern Beaches, the Eimeo Pacific Hotel has already opened its doors for dine-customers.

The hotel's events manager Andrea Davis said bookings were essential.

"We have opened the front section of the hotel for casual alfresco while we finish our renovations," Ms Davis said.

"Hopefully in a month we can do a proper full reopening."

She said the business had struggled during the COVID-19 shutdown, along with many others.

"It was really difficult letting go a lot of the team. Now that we are trying to get restarted, it is a bit stop-and-go," Ms Davis said.
