Fun filled day at fair this Saturday

THIS Saturday is expected to be filled with sunshine and smiles at Whitsunday Christian College's Open Day Fair from 2-7pm.

The fair will be held on campus and is expected to be a fun afternoon jam-packed with entertainment and celebration that will showcase the school to the community.

There will be plenty of rides, stalls, entertainment and food.

Whitsunday Christian College principal Nathan McDonald said it would be a special day to celebrate with the school and the wider community.

"The purpose of the Open Day Fair is to showcase the school to the community. People can come and check out Whitsunday Christian College's modern facilities and walk through its classrooms and view the amazing work of college students," he said.

The day will also help celebrate 12 years of Whitsunday Christian College's current location and their 10-year anniversary with Christian Community Ministries.

Attractions will include a range of stalls, such as food stalls, a petting zoo, a show bag stall and more.

The show rides available include jumping castles, a merry-go-round, inflatable worm and a large slide suitable for the younger ages as well as the King Flyer, Sizzler and Hurricane for the older age groups with unlimited ride passes available on the day.

The school will also showcase the work of their students in classroom displays from 3- 4:30pm.

Mr McDonald said this would be a great opportunity for existing families to see what the students had been learning about and for the wider community to witness what college has to offer.

Whitsunday Christian College will also be promoting a range of clubs and community groups that directly relate to children by offering free information stands on the day.

The Open Day Fair will finish with fireworks supplied by Above Ground Zero at 7pm.
