Giving back to a great cause
KYLIE Haden Tame has been has been the recipient of services offered by Ronald McDonald in Brisbane for nine and half years.
She said the upcoming rock and roll themed charity ball is her way of giving back to the organisation.
"Everything that happens with the Ronald McDonald house is community funded," she said.
Ms Haden Tame's son was born with digeorge syndrome and has a brain condition and a heart condition.
The Lady Cilento Hospital in Brisbane is the only place in Australia that treats children with the condition.
"I go down pretty much every three to four months for treatment. All of his operations have to be done in Brisbane because of his heart condition."
Ronald McDonald House provides accommodation for the families of seriously ill children who live more than 50km from the treating hospital in Brisbane.
There a 47 families in the Whitsunday area use the services provided by Ronald McDonald House in either Brisbane or Townsville.
The Whitsunday PCYC will host the ball on Saturday, September 10 from 6pm.
The Cadillacs will entertain the crowd while a two course meal and canapés are served from the kitchen of Fish D'vine.
There will also be an auction and a bar.
