Good job
Good job
TO MOST people Airlie Beach looks like a bomb went off.
So many people are involved, affected and concerned about what's happening in Airlie.
A very important thing we must keep in mind - we want this job done right - to last the next 100+ years, to be intact after torrential rains and floods and drunks and life.
The tiles they are using are very interesting and I'm told they will last a long, long time - they are quality.
There is over $10m infrastructure under the road construction and I have watched them put driveways in and remove them up to 3 times in one day to accommodate the businesses and traffic.
People are concerned and constantly express their concern and I'd like you to know - Pro Build keep us informed and updated by emails, and regular visits.
On the site Pro Build regulary check and re-arrange access, the workers are great and really have safety in perspective.
Pro Build work so well with the public and the businesses.
I commend them, and recommend any person or business to take a leaf out of their book.
Sure, people are genuinely concerned because if the plug does get pulled we really will be in trouble, and for the people who do care, come into Airlie Beach and shop, and put your good energy in too.
I'm sure we can keep the tourists and visitors coming with our encouragement and support, bad press travels faster than anything.
There is no good slamming the contractors when we just come out of the slowest month of the year and were having a real wet season.
Some traders are doing OK and others have had the best February for a long time.
I'm sorry some are doing it really tough, but I for one, try to support them as much as I can.
This is Airlie Beach upgrade project plan Number 47? finally a success - and that fact alone tell's us of the huge logistics and great magnitude of the project.
Sure we all have better ideas and holier than thou comments but they have told us this project will be delivered around July, and with our good thoughts, encouraging comments and perseverence we will have a main street and businesses to want to visit and be proud of.
