Grantham flood inquiry delayed

THE Grantham flood inquiry hearing for today has been cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances".

The investigation is expected to reconvene in Gatton tomorrow with experts and witnesses due to take the stand.

The commission last week heard Danny McGuire, whose wife and two children were drowned when a wall of water hit the rural fire truck they were in.

Mr McGuire told the commission he was swept out the window while his family perished inside.

Lockyer Valley service station owner Martin Warburton also told the commission he saw cars and people disappear underwater within minutes of the flood arriving.

The inquiry is expected to resume tomorrow.
